AirAsia will start flying from Kuala Lumpur (KLIA2) to Pattaya (U-Tapao Airport) on July 16. The airline will operate four weekly flights on this route.
AirAsia will be the only airline that connects Pattaya to Kuala Lumpur directly. This will be AirAsia’s seventh destination in Thailand from Kuala Lumpur, after Phuket, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Hat Yai, Krabi and Surat Thani. Last year, the airline carried over two million passengers between Malaysia and Thailand.
The world-famous beach resort city, Pattaya is located on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand and about 150km south-east of Bangkok. U-Tapao–Pattaya International Airport is a joint civil–military public airport serving Rayong and Pattaya cities in Thailand. Thai aviation authorities expressed interest in expanding the airport facilities to operate additional international flights.
In conjunction with the announcement, AirAsia is offering promotional all-in-fares from RM38 one-way and inclusive of tax, for bookings from today until May 17, for the travel period from July 16 to May 31, 2016.
